Reducing Your Cholesterol Level through Exercise

Usually, having high cholesterol levels could lead to serious diseases or worse, death. So, to prevent cholesterol build-up, it is important to involve yourself in exercise regimens. One kind of activity that has been proven to lower cholesterol is cardiovascular exercise. This kind of exercise involves brisk walking, aerobics, swimming and other kinds of sports. In brisk walking, walk slowly at first then develop a quick pace to raise your heartbeat. Keep this pace for ten minutes and after that, walk slowly to cool down. If possible, do this for six weeks before lengthening your walking time to an hour.

Another helpful exercise is regular swimming. If you have a swimming pool at home or you live near the beach, you have easy access to venues that encourage cardiovascular exercise. If you do not have both means, register at fitness centres or public pools. Then, swim three days a week for one hour a day and do this for six weeks so that by then, you can extend your swimming period.

Another is participating in aerobic classes. Although some people find this activity awkward, take a friend so that you will be more be motivated to attend. Furthermore, involve yourself in sports because it is one great way to be healthy. Some examples of sports that keep you moving are basketball, football and water sports. Other than that, Frisbee, football, running, biking or even throwing a ball with your dog are nice and fun exercises that can lower your cholesterol. All in all, you can maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercises, sports and a strong resolve, of course.
